My Story

Well I thought I was getting there after my first heart attack at the age of 50.

After many years as a marathoner, having a heart attack I knew I was doing something wrong so I followed all the industry standard advice and ended up being a very successful ultramarathoner, winning age group awards and being sponsored by Hammer Nutrition.

I was probably much like you. I thought I had it dialed in and could keep on running like this forever. I was doing high mileage and tempo runs to get fast, eating a heart healthy low fat, high carb diet to maximize energy and hitting the Crossfit gym twice a week to get strong.

But I was sore and tired all the time and still struggled to lose that last 10 pounds, The last straw came one Monday morning at my Crossfit gym, when sitting on the bench after my warmup, I felt that familiar tightness of the chest , I was having another heart attack. After going to the hospital for yet another procedure, I had to start looking for better answers and luckily, found them with Dr. Phil Maffetone.

I learned from Dr. Phil that the one thing that was holding me back and ruining my health, was chronic inflammation and stress. Well that's two things but they're both related.

I read all his books and articles and started following his advice and immediately saw results. I couldn't believe it worked! Running became fun again, I immediately lost that extra weight and was still able to compete at a high level with dramatically less strenuous training and no injuries!

Now, 10 years later, at 72, I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life. No I'm not super fast, but I have a ton of energy, no nagging injuries and the strength and stamina to keep up with the young kids in our trail running group.

If you're watching this, you're probably just like me. Someone who loves running, loves the outdoors, and wants to be healthy and fit as we age. No matter what drives you to run, eliminating that one thing, chronic inflammation and stress is the key.

And that's why I think you're going to love the Forever Runner Method.

What I learned was that following the standard recommended high carb, low fat diet and no pain, no gain structured training plans we're all so familiar with, slowly ruined my health due to chronic inflammation and stress.

We all have friends who we used to run with or compete against that no longer run due to chronic injuries or pain.

You don't have to go down that path, If you're like me, you can reverse the damage and give yourself the freedom, Independence and vitality to enjoy a lifetime of running.

Running gets a little tougher as we age, but I have a method, specifically designed for runners over 50 years old that can change that.

The Forever Runner Method will get you fat adapted, boosting your energy and aerobically efficient, allowing you to run like a kid again, without effort.

You know I never thought to much about getting old. My dad, was always very fit and healthy, but it really didn't hit home for me until when he was 96 years old. he moved from his condo into assisted living to recover from a surgery. Even though he was the oldest person in that facility, he was the only one who could get down on the floor and stand back up by himself, he was the only one who could reach up and put dishes away in his top cupboards and he was the only one who could go outside for a mile walk without assistance.

Don't give up on your running and health, be like my dad.
